In France, parliamentary elections are divided into two elections: the elections for the representatives of the National Assembly and the elections for the Senators of the Senate. The French Constitution Council is a competent body to supervise these national and political elections through dealing with complaints and deciding about complaints raised in connection with these elections. The Council can only do so when a complaint is brought before it and it has no power to judge otherwise. If the violations committed in respect of any election are extensive, such as violation of advertising rules, voting and casting of votes, the Constitution Council may declare that election invalid. In this article, the functions of the Constitution Council to the extent relevant to controlling and supervising elections will be reviewed and discussed
